10 Minute Solution Dance Off Fat Fast

Works For Me- Fun Cardio
I have done this workout for a week already and I'm happy to say that I love it. The instructor was a nice surprise ; pleasant and motivating with great form. The choreography was fun ,easy to follow and it made me feel like a dancer. The 10 minute format is excellent because it allows me to make the best use of my time and at the same time it keep boredom away.My favorite segments are the 'simple slim down','dance sculpt' and 'cardio swing dance'.I highly recommend this workout and I'll be dancing to it frequently. - posted by Janet on 10/13/2008
I was expecting it to be more fun than it was
I tried this DVD for the first time today and was sadly dissapointed. I am an intermediate/advanced exerciser and was looking for a DVD that was for fun to help break up the "exercise dread" factor. After previewing the DVD and reading some of the reviews I had high hopes for this DVD. Sadly, I turned it off after just 7 minutes. I tried 2 minutes of 1 segment and switched it to another one before I just couldn't handle it anymore. I don't really know how to describe what it was that I didn't like except the fact that the moves didn't seem to flow together very well. There seemed to be more hoping and jumping than actual dance-inspired movements. I will try to give this DVD another shot in the future, but I have so many others that I really enjoy that I'd rather do. I really don't recommend to anyone to purchase this. It really is not as fun as it looked! - posted by Julia on 10/9/2008
ok
This one was just ok for me. It really bugs me on a dvd when the instructor forgets to do a set of something on one side and the production editors do not catch this before releasing the dvd. In the ballet section she forgets to do a set of leg extensions on the first side. The music was not that good to me and I couldn't get in to it like I do on other dance dvds. I will probably try to do this again or at least a few sections of it from time to time but it's not going to be a favorite. Not like dance of the inches hip hop or Jen Galardi's 10 min solution dance dvds. I think they are better dvds. - posted by Tammy on 9/14/2008
Wasn't as much fun as it looked....
and I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I only liked the Swing and Ballet sections and I'm not even a fan of Swing or Ballet. The music didn't do a thing for me and I thought some of the moves were repetitive from section to section. I mean...how many ways can you do a hip swing? It did seem like it was over in no time even though I wasn't really having fun...I guess because it's broken down in 10 minute sections - posted by SDHR on 9/10/2008
Fun cardio!
Let me first say that this is the first dance dvd I have done and I have two left feet. That being said, I had a blast with this dvd! I found the moves to be easy to catch on to and I loved the different themes, my favorite being the swing cardio. I liked the instructor, too. This is a fun workout that didn't wear me out. I really like this one and will be implementing it a lot. - posted by Rebecca on 9/7/2008
Enjoyable Dance Moves
I enjoyed this one, four segments of dance and one toning segment; I am a lover of dance workouts of all kind but was glad to see no hip hop this time (I have plenty of hip hop workouts and Jennifer Galardi does the best of them); instead, you get retro (70's), swing and a segment that is a little stripper-esque (not that I minded, it was my favorite). The first segment is a little broadway. I liked the pace of this video, it didn't leave me flat on the floor, I feel I could do all five segments in one day without feeling completely wiped out. Keep the 10 minute solution videos coming! - posted by Cat on 8/17/2008
Fun Fun Fun
I had a great time doing this one. I did all 50 minutes in one and it just flew by. I felt like I got a great cardio workout and had a lot of fun. The steps were easy enough to follow the first time but she doesn't break it down so slowly that it will tire after repeated viewings. This will be perfect in rotation when I just want straight cardio or I'll use sections to warm up or add on to other workouts. All in all, a great addition to my workout library. - posted by Jenn on 8/16/2008
I loved it!!
I loved this workout and found it really fun. I would totally recommend it. I didn't pick up on it being imbalanced at all. I just kept thinking I was getting a great cardio workout. To me that's what dancing is... Let loose and have fun! I really loved the Simple Slimdown and Dance Sculpt segments. I would like to do more of the Dance Sculpting... I could really feel my muscles working!!! (I prefer to get all kinds of cardio, am pretty fit, and love sculpting!). - posted by Sonya on 8/12/2008
have fun burning fat
Even though I have some dance background...I finally found a cool workout that keeps my heart rate up, is challneging, but not over the top. Keep in mind that workouts can be done in short time periods or for the whole 5 ten minute segments. What is so great and fun about this is that you can learn a few new dance moves while burning calories and toning your body. Leah did a great job walking me through the routine and keeping it interesting. The variety of dance moves helps with the whole body workout. Put this one on your list to buy. - posted by jennie on 8/12/2008
Some fun moves
I just got this one, and have done the entire workout once. I like it, the moves are not hard to get the first time around, and I found most everything fun to do when you want a light dance cardio workout. My favorite was the first 10 minutes and I liked the dance toning. However, I would not say it's a top favorite, but it will be fun to have for add-ons or when I want to do some dance cardio. Just like I found in 10 Minute Solution Fat Blasting Dance Mix with Jennifer Galardi, if you also have that one, some of the dance moves in Dance Off Fat Fast are done on one side, but not also done on the other side. For example, you do some hip circles only one way, and not the other, and you go in a circle to the left but not also to the right in one segment. So, if this was the only workout you did every day, I feel the body would not be worked evenly. But I think for a dance workout, it's not a huge deal. The one part I noticed that is uneven on the dance ballet toning is that she obviously forgets to do one set of standing ballet leg extentions on the first side in a set of different plies, but she does them on the second side. So, I will have to remember to do them on the first side, and pause or rewind and continue on. - posted by Andelyn on 8/11/2008
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Programmable chapters
X
At the beginning of your workout, you can select the exact segments you want to play that day. The DVD will then play all those segments in the order you chose.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
