Time graph for 10 Minute Solution Slim & Sculpt Pilates

You get five different 10-minute workout segments plus a 6-foot resistance band. The band provides Pilates machine-style moves at home (e.g. similar to the straps/springs on a Reformer, the band adds intensity while assuring absolute control during muscle contraction and elongation). You can also vary the resistance by simply adjusting how and where you hold the band (e.g. making it shorter to increase resistance). Each segment uses a variety of well-transitioned, carefully chosen exercises to target a specific area: lower body, upper body, abs, total body or stretch (DVD can be programmed to play any/all segments in any order). Excellent, one-on-one cuing by Suzanne Bowen. ©2007. DVD has: Programmable chapters.

10 Minute Solution Slim & Sculpt Pilates

really liked it
i love the fact that she uses a band. i feel i really get a good workout. the arm segment i felt the next day. i also like the cool down. - posted by theresa on 10/28/2008
Don't really like it :(
I'm an inter/advanced excerciser - I'm 16, like to do pilates and Leslie Sansone... not so great with aerobics, but i like to do workouts that make you sweat and be sore the next day and so you can really feel like you worked out. this workout wasn't really a workout for me. Suzanne taught pretty well, but the 10 min. don't give enough time to switch positions and get good slow pulls and enough reps. I've done this for about 2? months, and I've gotten a little def. on my arms...... but that could be from other workouts i do. I've NEVER even begun to sweat, I've NEVER been sore. the lower leg doesn't feel like you're doing anything at all, even though you pull a ton of the band - more like you're doing arm workouts on all of them to try to get enough band. some of the upper body workouts like the 'painting under the stairs' were at angles that were rather weird - and i really didn't like the flexibility workout. so it just doesn't seem to work for me - it might for a beginner though. - posted by Mary on 9/19/2008
An amazing lengthening and sculpting workout!!!
I love this workout DVD. I am an intermediate/advanced exerciser, and I found this workout to fit perfectly into my fitness regimen because it trains my body differently than what I am used to. Suzanne is so creative and inspirational. The exercises in this video make your muscles feel sculpted and lengthened. The segments in this workout are well paced keeping me working the whole time. Once you get used to the band and go through the video once, you feel much greater control over the difficulty and execution of the exercises. I found that you could really increase the level of difficulty in the segments by listening to Suzanne's cue to take more of the band in your hands as needed...at times I knew I added too much resistance when I couldn't finish the reps!! I think the band is such a great way to add resistance to the body, and I definitely felt my muscles burning....and I was sore the next day. This is definitely a great pilates workout!!!! This DVD is a must have!!!! - posted by Destiny on 8/18/2008
pretty good
you do break a little sweat and the exercises are great, however, you MUST master the band if you really want to work your body... it also needs more reps... maybe playing the same segment twice will give more benefits... - posted by Josie on 7/29/2008
GREAT with Modifications
As an intermediate/advanced exerciser for years, this dvd is great. For each workout I pull the band or wrap it around my hands more for an additional challenge. Do it, I promise you will feel it. I am not much of a "sweater", but after this workout my shirt is soaked! I also do the entire dvd for 50 minutes instead of 10 minnutes at a time. - posted by Deborah on 7/29/2008
Great strength training workout
I think that the 10 minute solution by Suzanne is great I'm like the other viewer if you are just starting a pilates workout this is the one, I found it to be very challenging. - posted by Amanda on 7/24/2008
Wonderful!
I've tried the lower body, upper body, & stretching segments of this workout for the first time last week, & I was like- wow!! This workout is wonderful! It totally packs a wallop in that short a time. I like the instructor. To me, she gives a calm, soothing presence. I actually prefer her to Lara Hudson. I'll be adding this workout to my routine. I loved it. - posted by Tranisha on 6/10/2008
So -So
I have this one and I done it only twice , it is ok but I just dont have that good feeling after I am done . The instructor is nice , the music is fine but I did not click with this one oh one more thing 10 min sol. never worked for me I also gave away 10 min rapid results maybe for beginners this would be fine. I never do this workout
Maybe I don't like Pilates much, or maybe I just have not done an excellent pilates workout but this one seemed to be too quick. I would really love it if the reps were HIGHER. She seems to move too fast and you don't really feel the burn because of the short amount of time you spend on each muscle. I have done some segments twice just because of this, but I have not really reached for this workout in months...does not seem very effective. - posted by Mandee on 6/2/2008
Great Workout for Addon!
I really enjoy this workout. I use some heavier bands sometimes to increase the challenge. As far a the rating goes, you have to remember it's being rated int/adv as far as pilates workouts goes, not trying to compare it wiht Cathe, lol. Anyway, Suzanne gives great pointers and is a pleasant instructor. I love to add on a few segments after my cardio and get some great pilates in. - posted by Elaine on 5/15/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
