Time graph for Attitude Ballet & Pilates Fusion
A fluid blend of ballet, Pilates, yoga and traditional weight training. But it feels different — the flowing movements, quiet music and gentle instruction make it exceptionally elegant and graceful. You’ll begin with authentic “barrework” adapted for in-home use — classic ballet moves including arabesques, demi-pliés and relevés. That’s followed by a varied series of toning routines including lunges and tricep French presses. You’ll finish with a core-focused Pilates matwork medley. Bernadette Giorgi’s cuing is superb — precise, thorough and quietly motivating. A 2 to 5 lb. weighted ball is optional. DVD has several premixed workout variations (24 to 68 minutes each). ©2007. DVD has: 4 premixes (24 to 68-min. alternate workouts), Chapter menus.

Attitude Ballet & Pilates Fusion

Awesome workout for younger women too!
I know this workout is directed to women over 50, but I'm 26 years old and this workout kicked my butt! I could definitely feel that I was getting a good workout and using muscles I didn't know I had! I was looking for a low impact full body workout and Attitude is definitely it! I'm loving it so far and I am looking forward to trying Attitude Tu as well! - posted by Melissa on 11/15/2008
Beautiful
This workout is simply beautiful. It's graceful, the music is perfect, and Bernadete Giorge radiates good vibes-she is an excellent instructor. Her queing is excellent, her demeanor is relaxed, calm and encouraging. I believe the workout will be very effective. - posted by Barbara on 9/14/2008
I am seeing great results from this workout!
I purchased this DVD months ago. I have been doing the workout at least twice a week, and I am actually seeing some great results - my arms are more toned, I am absolutely more flexible, and I have much better balance than I did before. This is monumental for me since my next "big" birthday is the big 6-0!!! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to keep their body in a youthful state. It's like going to physical therapy without having to make the appointment!! After purchasing this DVD, I was looking forward to Bernadette's next DVD, which also did not disappoint. Now I eagerly await her third DVD. - posted by Cindy on 9/13/2008
Perfect for anyone with bone or joint problems!
I was diagnosed with degenerative joint disease last year after an MRI revealed bulging lumbar disks. I had been unable to maintain my normal daily activities, and the pain had slowed me down quite a bit. My doctor referred me to physical therapy, but I felt that PT only provided limited flexibility and strengthening exercises. I found Attitude to be the perfect workout! First, the emphasis on ballet allows for increased flexibility while maintaining correct posture and spine position. Also, the toning exercises have helped to reduce my back pain by strengthening the muscles around my joints. The low impact movements are exceptionally good because they do not stress my joints. I feel very fortunate that I now have the ability to improve my health, increase my level of fitness and return to a normal, active life! - posted by Priscilla on 7/23/2008
Different but still a great workout
If you're looking for a workout that will have you gasping for air and pounding away, this is not it. I do like those types of workouts sometimes, but I also loved this one and found it effective. It got my heart rate up enough, it strengthens and tones your whole body, and it works your balance and flexibility. Best of all, I just feel GOOD when I'm done. Bernadette is an excellent teacher. I don't have a background in ballet, so I found the instructional part very helpful. The more I do it and get more comfortable with the moves, the more effort I can put into it and maintain my form, and the more effective it becomes. It challenges me in ways that many other workouts don't, and I find that it really has a place in my workout collection. - posted by Terri on 7/1/2008
Beyond 50 and getting to the fabulous bit...
Just recently I discovered and started using Bernadette Giorgi's "Attitude". It was exactly what I was looking for - me being "beyond 50" with a body not nearly as "fabulous" as I wished, but willing to take on the challenge of losing weight and getting fit. Callanetics were my favourite and I was dabbling in Pilates through books and DVDs, but found it was time to dedicate more time and effort to my physical well-being and something new seemed the right way to go - and that's when I found "Attitude". It's really worth taking the time to get the form and basic movements right. My earlier ballet experience definitely helped there, because being precise in the movements and being familiar with them adds to the feeling of enjoyment and well-being, during as well as after. There is definite grace and beauty throughout this workout because of the attention to ballet and once the basics are mastered, I can enjoy a flowing and very pleasurable workout, with enough tough bits to keep me motivated for more. And it works: feeling more grounded, getting firmer with a better posture are no false claims. If you do the work, you get the results, like in a real class with a real teacher who is caring and committed. - posted by Monique on 5/18/2008
The ab work is no piece of cake
When I bought this I had no idea it was marketed to the over 50 age group. I saw it listed on another website that only sells advanced dvds, so I was really surprised to read the cover when it arrived from Collage. However, I am glad I bought it. The instructor has a calm demeanor and gives good instruction. I am not very familiar with ballet, but I think those are well done and enjoy it. The ab work is what I am most impressed with on this dvd. They are not easy, but seem to get the job done without being too tough. - posted by Sandra on 4/20/2008
This workout is a breath of fresh air
I've started to use your DVD and I think this will be a perfect fit for me. I'm new to all the moves, as I have no background at all in ballet, but I'm taking it slow and really enjoying it! Along with aging and menopause has come weight gain(ugh!) and lack of energy; not to mention stiffness and lack of flexibility! I have to tell you that you've done a wonderful job! The combination of your voice and the background music is so soothing. I have used other workout videos in the past and the music and instructor's voice has always been so loud and annoying. Yours is a breath of fresh air! I will be recommending it to others. - posted by Sheryl on 4/7/2008
Great Work Out!
I am 45 years old and loved this tape. After all the years of pounding to Mindy Myrea and the various Step tapes - this was such a good non-jarring work out. My body is now lean and long and I can maintain my weight of 115-lbs without doing any damage to my knees and hips~ wonder what took me so long to find this tape. - posted by Lina on 3/31/2008
Ballet & Strength
I like this workout a lot. Due to my ballet training, none of the moves were unfamiliar or hard, but the combination still creates a workout that develops strength, balance, and grace. I appreciate the customizable aspect: if you want to do all floor work and concentrate on the lower body and balance one day and the upper body (using the weighted ball) on another, you can. The music & cuing were very good. - posted by Linda on 3/29/2008
