Time graph for Back in Shape
A beautifully produced blend of flowing stretches and gentle toning. It covers all aspects of back health: relaxation, strength and flexibility. The first segment focuses on back alignment and breathing; the second on strengthening the back and its opposing ab muscles. The one-on-one cuing is soothing and calm with easy-to-follow imagery (“inhale as if your whole body were an expanding balloon”). The workout is exquisitely filmed on a tranquil Australian beach and features quiet instrumental music. ©2001.

Back in Shape

feels so good!
I bought this dvd, when I ordered other stretch dvds. The moves are SO simple, and...they really do relax and soothe a tired, knotted up, stressed set of back muscles. I clean houses & drive a school bus route; and I get stressed out. This dvd definitely helps. I recommend it for relaxing, soothing, and easing out the kinks from a demanding, difficult day. The music, scenery, and her quiet voice is wonderful! 5 stars! - posted by vanessa on 5/27/2008
Awesome
This is a keeper. I felt so much better in my back after doing this dvd. The instructor's cuing was perfect. The sound of the waves in the background made it even more relaxing. If you have back issues this is the DVD to buy. - posted by Jodie on 5/24/2008
it works!
When you do this video, it doesn't feel like you're doing that much - the stretches are gentle and the ab work seems easy. But the exercises are genuinely, amazingly effective for my (formerly-chronic) lower back pain - when I do this this video regularly, I am pain-free. - posted by Ann on 5/8/2008

Gentle stretches for the back
I get back muscle aches just from everday activities and I wanted a stretching DVD specifically to relax back muscles. Mimi Solaire's "Back In Shape" offers gentle stretches for the back. There are two 15-minute sessions and they are filmed on a quiet Australian beach. The music is soft and fluid, the scenery is serene and calm. Mimi's voice is soothing and I find this DVD to be very relaxing. - posted by Holly on 8/26/2005
It Worked For Me
After doing this video, not only is my posture better but I no longer have pain in my back and legs. I enjoy the stretches and the relaxing attitude throughout the video. Doing the video also helps me to de-stress. LAH - posted by on 8/2/2005
I LOVE THIS WORKOUT!
This back workout is fabulous. I did Yoga Booty Ballet and some how sprained my back so it's really painful. The first day I did this I felt immediate relief on my spine it was like a miracle happened. I do this workout a few times a week when my back hurts. You will NOT be sorry that you purchased it. It has 2 segments and both are 15 min each, you can do the first one or the second one or both! For those who have dvd players it has a menu so you don't have to look at the whole thing. The music and backgrounds are so soothing, just take it slow and follow the instructor. I hope you like it as much as I do it is well worth the money. - posted by Carol on 2/11/2005
Good, soothing workout
I'm not sure how much good the toning aspects of the video will do if you're already a regular exerciser; it's very gentle. But the breathing and relaxation aspects of the tape are definitely helping my lower back, and I am also much more aware of my posture when sitting, standing, and walking, which is also going to help. And if you're not a regular exerciser, you'll see toning improvements in your ab and back muscles too. The pace is good, and the beach setting is beautiful. - posted by JLP on 9/3/2003
Relaxing
This video is very relaxing. It is an okay video to have among your video collection, nothing really too difficult, just some very nice stretches. Ideal for any back suffering. Great for any one interested in starting a yoga program. - posted by Lori-Anne on 7/29/2003
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
