Time graph for Cathe Friedrich's Butts & Guts
The toughest lower-body/abs program ever. It features a huge variety of exercises and equipment (if this doesn’t give you shapely legs and “six pack” abs, nothing will). Cathe uses every possible variation of proven body-sculpting moves (e.g. squats: regular, pulsing, one-legged, weighted). You’ll begin with standing routines focused on your glutes (large, hard-to-work muscles that Cathe manages to totally fatigue). Then it’s classic floorwork like lying inner leg lifts, hydrants and side leg lifts on a stability ball. Finally, on to the abwork that integrates hand and ankle weights to maximize intensity (for more abwork, there’s a bonus 15-minute stability ball ab program). Also has shorter “premixed” workouts. Some vocal music. Requires 3 to 15 lb. dumbbells, ankle weights, a barbell, stability ball, 6-foot resistance band and a 14" high step. ©2006. DVD has: 4 premixes (48 to 65-min. alternate workouts), Programmable chapters.

Feel the butt burn!
I'm an inter/advanced exerciser - over 20 workout videos, many inter/advanced or advanced - lots of Jari and Cathe. I've only done this video twice, but I'm very impressed b/c butt muscles I didn't even know I had hurt when I was done each time! I've never done another video that focused on the booty so much. I'm excited to see my butt in a month or two from now! - posted by Leeann on 11/4/2008
The best lower body dvd ever!
OMG I could not believe this dvd, I thought that since I am a weight lifter and an amateur figure competitor that I can handle anything, especially an exercise video. Was I wrong, I had to take little breaks here and there during the workout it was burning that much, but the good kind of burn. Absolutely loved it, I haven't been this sore in my lower body in a long time, even after heavy squats, leg presses and lunges in the gym. It is amazing how using little to no weight can work this well, Cathe is amazing to say the least. I got ahead of myself on the first go around and used heavier dumbbells and ankle weights, I think next time I will do it without and build from there. I will be using this dvd for years to come. - posted by KF on 9/25/2008
Fresh, Fun, and Feeling it!
I think this is the most fun I've had doing a Cathe workout (and that's saying something, because they're all great)! I'm a loyal Cathe follower and triathlete, and I always look forward to this workout. On the menu, it can be intimidating to see how long the entire DVD is, but the time really flies by, and the fresh feel never leaves me bored. It's challenging, but in a really, really good way. Love the mix and match options available with the DVD. If you're looking to hit abs and glutes with some new surprises, this is the workout for you. I usually don't care for stability ball ab work, but I found the segment on this one to be effective in giving the burn. Nice work, Cathe! Keep them coming! - posted by Paige on 7/25/2008
OMG!!!!
I have yet to finish this video all the way through. I usually end up doing a shortened section. I have seen an increase in muscle stamina and strength using this video. It's amazing. - posted by Rhonda on 7/1/2008
Best Butt Workout EVER
In fact this didn't fry my entire lower body. It genuinely isolates your hamstrings and glutes. I LOVED this, since a lot of "butt and legs" workouts give you a ton of quad work with glutes on the side. Though there is a bit of quad, inner and outer thigh to round it out. I have incredibly weak knees (Her "Legs & Glutes" blew out my knee for a week) but this was surprising easy on them. There is no other workout out there that is as challenging on your muscles yet as easy on your knees. It's long, but it truly does not feel like it at all. I never dread this workout, I actually look forward to it- because of the results I've seen. And that is incredibly rare for me. If you're searching for something that will honestly challenge your glutes, look no further. - posted by Marian on 5/28/2008
FRY, BABY, FRY!!
I think Collage hit the nail on the head with their first sentence: "The toughest lower body/ab program. Ever." This workout is awesome!! It fries every single lower body muscle in my body! I thought I'd do the entire workout: fry, baby, fry! (what was I thinking?)! It seemed like it flew by and didn't drag at all, while the exercises are very well put together. I really didn't expect to be able to walk back up the stairs when I finished! Cathe is great in this--comical and pleasant, which makes you think twice about calling her those nasty names when she conjures up every wicked lower body exercise she could think up! Oh, and yes indeed, you'll be walking like a duck when you're done! - posted by MRS on 5/23/2008
Walk like a duck the next day
Whoaa! This is a well-thought out comprehensive video which focuses on those hard-to-tone areas. I am a pear-shaped intermediate exerciser and I LOVED this video. It gives me hope that I don't need to hire a personal trainer to have a rock-hard lower body and washboard abs. If you are willing to put in the time, this video has THE ANSWER. Oh & talk about DOMS (Delayed Onset of Muscular Soreness), I could hardly walk or sit down the next day. This video targets upper, lower and side glutes like no other, plus abs. Thanks Cathe! :) - posted by Clarisse on 5/19/2008
Wonderful!
This truly is a great lower body video! It almost seems easy in the beginning but it isn't. Very thorough, and you will BURN!!!! One of my favorites!!! - posted by Nydia on 5/16/2008
Best lower body workout in my collection
Well so far. I'm starting to collect Cathe dvds and each one I try I just love! This one was tuff but fun to do and the time flew by. Great workout! Definetly a keeper. I'll do this one often. - posted by Jess on 2/23/2008
Awesome total lower body workout
I was looking for a specific advanced lower body workout and this one is awesome. It is a bit long, but you can pick segments to do if you are shorter on time and/or combining this workout with cardio. - posted by Kendra on 2/23/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
