Time graph for Denise Austin's Fit Kids
Two workouts. One for kids 8 to 12 years old and another to do together as a family. These are not just “playing” — both programs include a variety of ’real’ exercises. And, of course, they feature Denise’s legendary enthusiasm and energy (“just do the best you can”). The kids’ routines have a definite dance orientation; from “hula hoop” and “bicycle” to grapevines and kickboxing (plus push-ups, crunches and even some basic yoga poses). The family program is especially fun; it also includes interactive exercises like tossing a basketball or helping each other stretch. ©2004. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Denise Austin's Fit Kids

Really Great workout
Over all the other workouts, I think this is the best. Her words spur you on, and I actually enjoy doing the exercises with my 6 year old daughter! Keep it up Denise! - posted by Kristen on 12/28/2007
Best Family Workout
It's a great workout! Every family should have it! It is the BEST kids workout there ever was. - posted by A.J. on 9/21/2007

I'm not too crazy about this video. First of all, Ms. Austin gets on my nerves, she's like a bad actress in a cheap B movie. The exercises are boring to me , but I must say my 6 year old daughter seems to like them. She likes me to exercise with her, so I'll keep looking for a video we can both enjoy. - posted by Lori on 4/17/2007
kids in the background
I was discussing this concept with my teenage daughter the other day with out the knowledge of this ever being done. I am so glad that this is offered because I believe that fat kids become fat adults because they are not taught to eat right or how to exercise...I think these videos need more advertisment!!! Please do something!!! - posted by crystal on 1/26/2007
I actually liked it...a lot
I was never a fan of Denise, I felt like she was instructing in baby talk, but she was great for my daughter and I had a lot of fun doing it too. I broke out in a sweat. I am now a fan. - posted by a.delgado on 8/2/2005
GREAT
I am so pleased to see a new tape geared for kids! I thought that this tape was wonderful. It wasn't too long, provided a lot a variety and is easy to follow. It wasn't necessarily high intensity but for a way to get inactive kids started with exercise I thought it was great. I hope to see more in the future! - posted by on 2/7/2005
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.
