Time graph for Gin Miller's Everybody Steps
By the inventor of step aerobics, it’s the perfect introduction to step workouts. You get a solid fat-burner as you learn all the step basics. If you’ve ever wanted to try step — at home or at the club — this is the program for you. An IDEA Instructor of the Year with 12 years of step experience, Gin knows what might be frustrating and how to make it understandable (“a tap is often used to change the lead leg”). The video has six distinct segments; you can advance at your own pace and stop when you want. You’ll begin with the simplest steps and the easiest patterns. By the end, you’ll have naturally progressed into classic step-aerobic combos (e.g. straddles, turns, transitions). ©2004. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Gin Miller's Everybody Steps

Only fell once, Dulcy!
I cracked up reading Dulcy's review that she only fell twice! I fell down once the second or third time I did the video, but I still love Gin! I'm doing a couple of Jari Love's DVDs where she incorporates step and I thought I might want to get more into step, but have the same left foot syndrome. The only other Gin Miller I have is a very OLD VHS of a non-step early 90's tape. Big, HUGE hair! Funny. This one is ultra-clear with great cueing, and has me sweating big time by the end. Anyway, this is a great introduction to step and I plan to move on to other Gin Miller step and maybe even Cathe's Lo Max. Looks pretty complicated though and I'm not great with choreography. - posted by Louise on 10/1/2008
love it!
I am really choreography challenged-have 2 very left feet.Always wanted to do step but couldn't follow even Kathy Smith tapes. So I tried this and was able to do the entire tape the very first time!Just fell twice but could do it.The higher you have your step the harder the tape will be.It is a beginner tape with slower and no high impact moves. Advanced exercisers and those who have fast reflexes and learn qickly will probably be bored. But it is a great tape for the rest of us.I will buy her simply classic tape next. - posted by Dulcy on 9/26/2008
What a great workout!
I have just finished doing Gin Miller's Everybody Steps workout. I am drenched with sweat and puffing like a locomotive! Granted, I'm a little older than most, but I'm not new to exercising. I feel as if I got a "gym quality" workout with this video. It is easy to follow, but please don't confuse that with not being challenging! Gin gives cues early enough so you can be ready. And just when I didn't think I could do another rep, she changes moves or brings you down from the step. I loved the workout. Buy this video. . .you won't be sorry. - posted by Bee on 8/29/2008
Excellent cues and easy to follow!
I absolutely love this dvd and recommend it to everyone. The cues are excellent, the steps are easy to follow and highly effective! If you're a Leslie Sansone fan that enjoys how well she cues and how her steps are easy to follow, then you will love this. Similar in that sense, but less chatty. It's terrific! - posted by dmm on 8/5/2008
Even I can keep up ....... at age 58!
Great instruction. Perfect cueing. Excellent warm up and cool down. I never feel as though Gin forgot that I'm out there. She makes step so very possible for anyone. I agree that this is the perfect introduction to step. And because the workouts are at a moderate pace, I think this is also a perfect post-introduction DVD. Thanks, Gin. - posted by Catherine on 7/30/2008
Wowie Gin
I love Gin. I started excercising in February of 2008 when I quit smoking, and this video is awesome. I was able to do the entire workout from begining to end without a problem. I love Gin's humor, keeps me smiling throughout the video. Love you Gin. Keep up the GREAT work! - posted by Patty on 7/19/2008
Now even a klutz can step!
What a great instructor!! I am new to step and a born klutz, but even I have learned to step. If you want to step, buy this video!! Gin Miller instructs in easy steps, and makes it fun. I like the way she explains things a class instructor might say or do. I really feel like I know what I am doing now, and can move on to more advanced videos. - posted by Pat on 10/29/2007
Great Video
I was new to step before I bought this video and was greatful that she spent time teaching you each step before trying to add more. She shows you how to do everything before adding more new steps and makes it interesting to watch as well. - posted by Laurea on 8/21/2007
Watch your thighs get small
I'm just starting stepping after years of in-home walking tape. This one is great and challenging at the same time. Gin helps you to understand the movements, does not chatter alot and most of all I really am happy after I finish this work. My thigs are tingling, the sweat is pouring and I feel refreshed. BUY THIS!!!! - posted by Melinda on 6/5/2007
Sweet, Uncomplicated and Fat Burning to the Point
I agree with Rainey; this is an excellent video for the beginner. Gin Miller is superb in setting the mood and cuing the steps. She is pleasant, funny and when she moves you into the next transition it's nonintimidating; you await the next building sequence or level with enthusiasm! This is a first-rate warm up video for the intermediate-advance stepper, and also an excellent starter video to prepare one for Gin's more challenging videos ("The Video," "Power," etc.) that is if you gravitate toward her enchanting personality; and who wouldn't I've been using Gin's videos since I discovered her back in the 1990s, and she still packs a punch whether it be step aerobics or strength training. The beginner will finish this video with a sense of accomplishment, and not a sense of failure (or mind boggling fatigue). Most step aerobic videos, of late, are extremely challenging and competitive...let's face it, most of us are novice exercisers, not athletes competing for the gold! Therefore, basic instruction and form and technique is far better than "my step routine is more difficult than your step routine." Now I'm rambling. At any rate, this is definately a good starter video, and rates 5 stars! Annice May 24, 2007. - posted by Annice on 5/25/2007

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
