Five 10 to 13-minute segments, they each use a different ab-tightening technique. To maximize variety — and to fit your busy schedule — the DVD lets you play the segments in any order. The standing section works your abs as it warms you up for the following exercises. The core series uses planks and stabilization moves to engage your deepest muscle layers. The bootcamp portion features gym-style crunches and V-sit drills. Then it’s a stability ball segment that combines balance and core exercises. Finally, you’ll focus on your core with a well-structured Pilates matwork sequence. Kathy’s cuing is precise, calm and always friendly. Requires a stability ball. ©2007. DVD has: Programmable chapters, Music only option, Region 1.

Kathy Smith's Tummy Trimmers

LOVE IT!
This is my first kathy dvd. I love it! It's so different from any other video I have. I love the way she gets right to the exercises without wasting anytime. At the same time, she's very informative. These workouts make me feel very energized! Love the 10 minutes segments so you can do as many as you like. Perfect addition to my collection! - posted by Lisa on 11/15/2008
Cut tummy... here I come!
This workout is intense and as far as I can tell effective. The moves are not hard to do, but at the same time they are challenging. My abs are killing me! I did three of the 5 exercises. My favorite is boot camp abs. I plan on using this DVD 4-5 times a week. I can't wait to see the results! I think that if I incorporate this DVD with cardio and weight watchers, I will finally get the body I've always wanted! - posted by Asia on 10/28/2008
Only 4 Stars From Me!
I agree with everyone else that this one is a winner and a keeper because it has variety and versatility. I love the different kind of workouts; you can do them all or do which one suits your mood. This dvd is truly programmable too. You can pick the workouts you want to do and then choose which order they are played. I gave it four out of five stars because the last workout, the pilates workout, was my least favorite because I do pilates quite a bit and love it, but I don't feel pilates does a lot for the core. It is a wonderful exercise, but I prefer the other four workouts. The standing abs is so fun and really aerobic too. The core abs and boot camp abs workouts are great and tough, but my favorite is the stablity ball abs. Kathy does exercises on the ball I haven't seen, and it's nice to be seated instead of standing or lying on the floor. Don't let this dvd run you off if you don't have a stablity ball--go ahead and invest in one--you won't regret it. You'll be hooked once you get one, and you'll be looking for more videos that use the stablity ball-it's fabulous and extremely versatile. The ball increases your range of motion, and it protects your back. It's a win-win piece of equipment. This is my first Kathy Smith dvd, and I liked her. She's pleasant and inspiring since she is middle aged like me. I'm 47, and it encourages me to see someone her age look so fantastic. I definitely recommend this dvd. - posted by Stacey on 8/6/2008
Excellent Core Workout
I love this DVD. I have been doing it every day for quite awhile now and really notice a difference. I love the variety. Each segment is totally different and you really feel like you are getting the a well-rounded ab workout. Kathy's cuing is excellent as is her form. She doesn't get overly excited in this one as she has in others - just a perfect level. I also love the 10 minute format. Great to just do one or two if short on time, or add on to any workout. Great job Kathy! - posted by Jenn on 7/31/2008
good form pointers
I'm not a big fan of Kathy Smith, however, she does a very good job with this DVD. She gives good form pointers throughout, and even tho I've been working out for decades, her form pointers are helpful even for a seasoned exerciser. Her cueing is good. Her enthusiasm is just about right for my tastes without going over the top. I was a little hesitant to purchase this, but the price was good ... and I'm very glad I did! - posted by Deb on 6/17/2008
Best versatile ab workouts
Dismayed that both my calendar and waistline announced middle age, I found myself in a time crunch with too little time to do a full FIRM workout. So I combined this DVD's Standing Abs (for obliques and aerobics) with the Core work (for the deeper transverse abs). Wow! After 4-5 mini-workouts, the waistline of youth emerges again, and the pooch recedes. And only because I did *not* have time to work out! - posted by Susie on 6/10/2008
GREAT WORKOUT
All of the AB workouts on this DVD are tough and effective. I do one everyday for 5 days. I have my favorites and I never thought my tummy could work so hard without one crunch. - posted by DeAnn on 3/20/2008
this is good and tough!
This is a great abs DVD. Each section is different and all contain a good, fun variety of ab exercises. Best of all, these exercises are tough and work all parts of the abs. I thought my abs and core were in pretty good shape until I did 3 segments of this DVD the other day, and I was really sore the next day in the obliques. This is a good add-on to Kathy Smith's Matrix Walk which also works the core. - posted by Barb on 3/11/2008
KATHY HAS A WINNER!
This dvd boasts very good variety in ab exercises so there's no reason to get bored with the same ol' ab crunches! The plank work is awesome, as is the standing/balance work. I've found this dvd to be very handy since I use sections from this as add-ons to my other workouts when needing some ab work. Kathy is very informative with quick pointers in this and is calm and relaxed, as well as looks incredible. The only downside to this video is its' title! LOL! - posted by MRS on 2/2/2008
Kathy Smith does it again!
I just got this DVD and it is another good one by Kathy Smith. I have not done all of it yet, but I would have bought the tape if it had only had the core and stability ball workout alone. Kathy Smith is an excellent instructor and I always like her workouts. She has kept me exercising for years. I highly reccomend this one. - posted by Kathy on 1/31/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
