Alternating intervals of easy-to-follow aerobics plus compound muscle toning. It’s intense, but also playful and fun. Patrick Goudeau’s infectious energy and honest encouragement is sure to keep you motivated (“oh my gosh, this is tough”). The non-dancy cardio segments feature both step and floor aerobics — explosive and powerful moves like squat thrusts and jacks. The fast-moving toning intervals include flexibility and balance exercises. These routines creatively integrate multiple muscles into every movement (e.g. bicep curls while doing a one-legged squat as you’re standing on the step). Requires 3 to 10 lbs. dummbells. ©2007. Patrick Goudeau's Hard Work Conditioning |
What a fun guy! Great for Intermediate! |
| I enjoy Patrick's workout as the time flies by. I like that it improves coordination and balance and incorporates uncommon moves that work mostly lower body and core. For maximum results with this workout, you need to push yourself to jump high and stay focused on strength in movement. I am giving this five stars because an intermediate exerciser would get a great workout and Patrick is so likeable. I don't know his personal life, but I think kids would love him to pieces. - posted by Linda on 10/21/2008 |

    Eating my words |
| Yes I am eating my words today. I wrote a less than glowing review of the dvd a while ago. I did not give it a chance. I had not done this workout in a while and actually have not ordered any new ones in quite a while so I was wanting to do something different so I pulled this one off the shelf and thought I would give Patrick another chance. After finishing the workout I can't even remember why I did not like it in the first place unless his excessive use of the phrase "oh my gosh" which after a while you do not even notice because you are concentrating on the workout. There are a lot of compound exercises in this workout. Ex-curtsy lunge off the step with a bicep curl. Some of the little aerobic stints are not all that challenging except the plank jacks off the step. I have to say those really got to me. I actually turned to the tv and told Patrick I was sorry for doubting this workout. I really feel it today. My butt is sore(which is a good thing-means reshaping). So all in all I will continue to do this workout and am going to order Hard Work Conditioning 2 when it comes out. So once again sorry Patrick for doubting you. - posted by Leona on 9/22/2008 |

my 1st Patrick will not be the last. |
| Hey.. I just did this video for the first time yesterday. It's my first Patrick Goudeau work out and will not be the last. I like his personality & teaching style. He struggles right along with the viewer. This is a good workout. Works everything & I'm feeling it in my butt today. I'm not too familiar with interval work outs and did not like the Firm work outs that I've tried. There is no fluff here. He gets right on it. I guess I warm up to Patrick because he reminds me of an old school male aerobics instructor I had in the 80s when I was doing the gym class thing. I look forward to his new releases that are on their way (and will be purchasing some previous work outs as well). I thank Collage for introducing me to some great instructors that I would have not discovered otherwise. - posted by Jessica on 8/1/2008 |

    Wow! |
| Really challenging workouts are also the ones I have to work up my courage and energy to do. I love this DVD! It makes getting ultra-fit a lot of fun. It has a functional fitness feel to it with moves that challenge balance or work the body in real-world ways. Some functional fitness moves can make me think "And where am I supposed to feel this?" This workout doesnt feel that way at all. It is a non-stop sweat fest during the cardio portions as well as the intervening strength intervals. It is a great high-intermediate level workout. - posted by Rachel on 7/24/2008 |

    Unique, Tough & Fun |
| This is my first Patrick video and I must say that I am impressed. He has a great disposition and communicates and cues well. I don't think he is annoying at all. If anything he sympathizes with people who are doing the routine, which, to me, humanizes him. One of the reasons I don't care for some other tough instructors is because they almost seem robotic as if they cannot empathize with the average exerciser. I found the workout different in that the compound exercises are unique and have a creative flair---not the same old set of exercises. Beware that parts of this dvd are tough---from the jump he starts out doing pushups with one hand on the step in the warm-up--but for the most part it is doable for someone who is at an intermediate level. This will not be my last Patrick purchase, that's for sure! - posted by Melinda on 7/15/2008 |

    The BEST workout! |
| I have been working out using DVD's for over 2 years now. I started with the Firm, moved to Cathe, Jari Love, and Amy Bento. This is my first "Patrick" video, and I am soooo impressed! It is my new favorite video. He keeps the mood so light and laughs and agonizes with you throughout the whole thing. Next, I love it because it is TOUGH! This video has compound, functional exercises that I've never had on DVD before. You will love the challenge and fun of this workout! - posted by Angie on 6/27/2008 |

    Not that great..just ok |
| I just did this DVD and it is ok. Some of the moves are good, but overall it was not a tough workout. I use Cathe's DVD's and they are a far better workout. - posted by Elena on 6/4/2008 |

    very good |
| I found this to be an excellent video. The only problem I had from it was using the step to do push up type movements. I found that the step kept moving. This was my first time using this DVD so I will probably get the hang of it the next time. I am an advanced exerciser. I workout out 6 to 7 times a week doing various workouts. At first I thought this DVD was a little bit too easy. I said to myself that next time I do it I'll use heavier weights and raise my step higher. I woke up the next day and had trouble sitting and lifting my arms. I couldn't believe how sore I was. It felt good. I don't think I'll be increasing the weight just yet. - posted by carrie on 5/16/2008 |
