Time graph for The Firm: Total Body Toner
A diverse sequence of all-dumbbell body-sculpting (even the floorwork uses weights). For maximum effectiveness, nearly every fast-paced exercise works multiple muscles at once. Allie DelRio Pointer keeps it interesting with non-stop movement variations — she’s endlessly changing angles, tempos, body positions, weight levels and range of motion. She makes the transitions smooth and natural by always starting with a basic routine, then gradually adding in the modifications (e.g. four plyo bursts with a lateral pull followed by a twist and lunge … then on to a new combo). Requires two sets of dumbbells. ©2007.

The Firm: Total Body Toner

is it me, or does Ali always do the same old stuff???
Don't get me wrong the old firm ROCKS!!! So why would i pay 15 bucks for something I already own? It reminds me of Tae Bo (Billy BLanks). New music, different back rounds, same moves. I CANT WAIT FOR 500 CALORIE!!!!! OMG!! Now thats gonna be my kind of sweat - posted by tiwana on 11/16/2008
Yet another lackluster one from Gaiam!
Did no one else notice how unbalanced this workout is and how it repeats the same moves over and over? It seemed to me that almost all of the standing work was twisting lunges with lat rows, or front lunges with biceps, or side-to-side squats with biceps. There was very little delt or tricep work, and little or no overhead presses, upright rows or rhomboid pinches. I don't even remember much hip/thigh/glute or pec floorwork, either, but I may have turned the dvd off before that stuff came. I was bored to death and my knees just can't take all those nonstop lunges anyway. The music was dismally boring, too. Guess I'll just keep using all my old Firms. - posted by Anne on 11/12/2008
Just OK
I enjoy previous workouts featuring this instructor (cardio sculpt & maximum cardio burn plus abs) but this one just didn't do it for me. I felt that she was trying to do too much at once. It just didn't flow. I was bored and kept looking at the clock hoping it would soon be over. I gave it 3 stars just for the instructor. - posted by Fran on 11/2/2008
Awesome!
This workout is simply incredible!! I have done it twice, & every time I do, I so feel the results. This workout is awesome! Great job, Allie! - posted by Tranisha on 10/25/2008
Great, quick workout
Allie's my favorite Firm instructor, so it didn't surprise me that I like this one. It's a 40 minute strength training workout, though she includes jumps and other moves to keep your heart rate elevated. It's just a great, comprehensive and fast workout, and she's personable and genuine. - posted by Jamie on 10/23/2008
Excellent toning
This is great for toning, she does great cueing, it is easy to follow and you feel like you great a great cardio workout as well. She does have someone doing the routine with no weights and motified moves. - posted by Lisa on 10/14/2008
Love it....I feel results coming!
I got this DVD because I don't like to lift weights but I wanted to tone everything. I like DVD's to get the job done and this one does in just the right amount of time. The instructor has clear directions who doesn't mess around. She is not very chaty other than to remind you to hold in your stomach.(Which I always forget to do!) There is a lot of squats and lunges so beware if you have knee problems. But other than that it's very easy to follow all the moves without hurting yourself. This DVD is a keeper! - posted by Leslie on 10/9/2008
This is a must!
I just did this one for the 1st time, and this is a must have!I've been firming since 2001,I have all the BSS's,the classics and many others. Allie is a great instructor as always. There's new moves which makes it new and exciting. Some of the reps could of been longer, But I was still sweating buckets on this one.GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - posted by Teri N. on 10/8/2008
GREAT WORKOUT!!!!
I have to start off by saying, this is one of the best Firm videos out there. She covers every part of the body, especially the abs. Keep up the good work Allie!!!! - posted by Vivian on 9/18/2008
Best of the new ones
My first set of Firm videos was the 6-workout blaster/sculpt series, which I still do and love. From there I tried a bunch of the older ones and settled on Maximum Body Sculpting and Fat Blaster as must-haves (I really liked how they used to pair a toning video with a cardio one). I didn't like any of the videos that used the Firm Box, and never experimented with the Transfirmer. I'm with everyone who hates to have to buy new equipment with each new set of videos that comes out. I have tried several of the newest Firm videos and have to say that I think Total Body Toner is the best of the bunch. You get a nice workout in a short amount of time. I need my workouts to be in the 30 to 45 minute range, with 40 being ideal. This workout gets your heart rate up by moving quickly; no dance steps here. Well cued by Allie and easy to follow. I'm definitely keeping this one in my rotation. - posted by Valarie on 9/8/2008

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
